AsbestOS Kmeaw 3.55 Fat and Slim/ and how to get internet working/change resolution

Linux has returned
HOWTO:
1. install AsbestOS installer v1.2 FAT PS3 pkg SLIM PS3 pkg
2. partition a USB disk to have at least one partition (FAT-formatted 16 is recommended but i think 32 will work just he same);
3. Debian Linux unpack linux.img and put it into the root dir of usb disk;
4. run AsbestOS installer;
5. install lv2 patcher v9 or higher: LV2 Patcher V9
6. attach an ethernet cable, connected to a network with a dhcp-server (just for the initial boot, it can be a SOHO router – just anything with DHCP);(Not needed in v1.2 but left it here anyway)
7. run lv2 patcher and select “Linux”;
8. as you see the fb console with penguins, you can unplug the ethernet cable;
9. login: ps3, password: ps3.

If you don’t see anything, press Ctrl-Alt-F1, then Alt-F7.

if anyone is wondering this is how you get an internet connection!

Accessories---> Root Terminal

when in Terminal, Type ;

leafpad /etc/network/interfaces

find iface eth0 inet dhcp

and auto eth0

change the values to

iface eth1 inet dhcp

and auto eth1

save(ctrl + s)

then in terminal again type;

/etc/init.d/networking restart

download this xorg.conf from iceweasel

http://louiscandell.com/ps3/files/xorg.conf

in terminal type

cd ..

cd etc

cd X11

leafpad xorg.conf

open a new terminal and type

cd Downloads

leafpad xorg.conf

copy content to empty xorg.conf and save it!

now restart it......

type

ps3videomode -v 34

Download Asbestosloader 1.3 for even better resolution(near 720p)

if you have any problems with asbestos not loading try reinstall the asbestosloader, if that does not work copy a new linux.img!!! tomorow im fixing the controller! im getting alot more confident with linux, but got alot of help from google hahaha
